What is DNS Timeline?

DNS Timeline plots the DNS records observed for a domain on one time axis. It shows the 50 most recent observations across MX, NS, CNAME and TXT. The IP addresses recorded for a domain are on ip-history.net. The rest, with filters and exports, is on Profundis, where the data comes from. Free, no account.

Supported record types

• MX - Mail exchange servers
• NS - Name servers
• CNAME - Canonical names (aliases)
• TXT - Text records on the domain itself, such as SPF and verification tokens

• Comparing mail and DNS providers at different dates
• Recovering records lost when changing DNS provider
• Checking an expired domain's past use before buying it
